Review: Into the Cold Fire (Daughter's of the Moon #2)

Author: Lynne Ewing
Goodreads Rating: 3.96
Pages: 264
Serena is being targeted by the Dark Side. Her power to read minds is what they need in order to destroy the Daughters of the Moon. And Serena has always had a rebellious side to her that may not be able to resist the seductive temptation of the Dark Side -- and Stanton, their sexy, mesmerizing leader. Set in mystical desert raves and gritty L.A. streets, this second Daughters of the Moon is a provocative and powerful read.

I'm going to keep this review kind of short and sweet.... which is actually a good comparison to the book.

Very much like the first book, this is a typical middle grade book, where it is highly repetitive. If you ever forget who has what power, or who the main characters are and how they met, just keep reading, it will remind you....

I actually liked this book better than the first one. It was very nicely told and I really enjoyed being put in Serena's shoes. You, as the reader, are left thinking the same things as Serena, as you read through her point of view. You are left wondering who Serena can and can't trust and the ending reveal was actually pretty genius. (That's as much as I dare say without giving anything away).

Much like the first one, the ending was pretty abrupt. There was a lot of build up for a pretty short wrap up. Since I experienced this in the first book though, this didn't come as much of a surprise for me.

Overall, an enjoyable book if you are looking for a quick read.
