Talk about a book that tormented me. I don't even know why I kept listening to this book after it was already driving me crazy. I couldn't stand Luce in the first book, but for some reason I had to keep going and try it again. There were points where it felt like I was being stabbed in the ear with a fork. Even that would have been preferable to this soft and painful book.
So lets start with Luce, and how she got mad at her boyfriend for saving her life. And then wouldn't listen to him when he was telling her how he could save her life. And then there is that time when he was trying to save her life and she wouldn't do what he wanted. WHY WAS SHE SO STUPID. It actually made me mad. I am actually mad right now writing this review.
I think what the author was trying to do was make a strong independent character who didn't need her boyfriend, but instead she just mad a needy moody character with no sense of loyalty or sense. I really hated her, like actually because all she did was make things worse and then claim that she loved Daniel, and then she would go around and kiss other boys. I'm sorry but thats not how love works.
I don't even think I can go any further with this review because I am just getting worked up and angry again. Needless to say, I'll just ask someone to tell me what happens with the rest of this series because my ears can't handle listening to any more of this bullshit.

Hell on earth.
That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous.
What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series...where love never dies.

The Courts Decision:
Haha! I like this series. Pretty sure I'm the only one on the planet, but I do.
ReplyDeleteI had trouble with book 1 too though--the boarding school setting just wasn't for me.
