Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn't

Ah, 2015. You were pretty great. Thanks for the new job! However, you didn't give me a lot of time to read. You did gift me with a love of audiobooks and also a LOT of new books. I'm grateful, I really am. But I wish I had tackled my TBR a little more than I had--a resolution I'm hoping to keep in 2016. I mean, I went whole DAYS without reading. Who does that?

Anyway, here's the list of great and amazing books I wish I had had time to squeeze in during 2015.

1. EVERYTHING EVERYTHING by Nicola Yoon

I was pretty sure I would get to this as soon as I got my hands on it. It was one of my top anticipated books for the year and yet, it's still sitting pretty on my shelf, unread. I will get to it in 2015, I will.

2. THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas

Before you come after me with pitchforks and torches, please know that I've started this book in 2014 and again 2015. I will get to it in  2016, whether or not I listen to it or read it.

3. MY LIFE ON THE ROAD by Gloria Steinem

I'm not that sad that I didn't get to read this one in 2015. Now, I get to read it with Emma Watson and her book club!

4.THE HEART OF BETRAYAL by Mary E. Pearson

I blame this one on my denial that this series is ending and my desire to drag it out for as long as possible. Plus, I want to wait a little closer to when the third book is coming out so that I'm not in agony.

5. A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas

I figured I should at least try to read Throne of Glass first. Right?

6. THE ORPHAN QUEEN by Jodi Meadows

My secret sister was amazing and gave me a copy of this book and I didn't get to it yet. Sigh.

7. A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC by V.E. Schwab

This list is preparing me for an amazing 2016.

8. FATES AND FURIES by Lauren Groff

After getting this at BEA--a publicist told me that as soon as she finished it she had to start over again--I knew I had to read it immediately.

9. SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA by Becky Albertalli

Heather from Harper was gracious and kind enough to send me a finished copy of this and did I read it as soon as it was delivered as planned?

10. MORE HAPPY THAN NOT by Adam Silvera

I laughingly told Adam that despite the fact that I read books like a tortoise runs a race, I would be sure to devour this book immediately after I got it. I'm sensing a trend here.

  1. A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas is it's own series...you definitely don't have to read Throne of Glass first as the characters and world are completely different.

A Darker Shade of Magic is like one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS EVER, and the second book was EVEN better!!! Read that ASAP girl!!

Everything, Everything was sweet, sad, and a little crazy but I forgave the Insta-love based on the MC's life before she meets (forgot his name). You can read that one in probably an hour if your a fast reader due to the way it's written and the charts, lists, ect. So, you can flip like 3 pages in 3 seconds at one point. I really loved it, because despite a few flaws if you think too hard, it has a great message and really made me cry happy and sad tears!

Read Throne of Glass! It is so much better than listening to it, especially the first time. The books get better as the series goes on, and you have 4 books to read in the series already released! You will not be disappointed. I put off reading this one for soo long and after I was like OMG why did I do that?? This book was freakin cool as hell and everything I never knew I needed! LOL

As for The Heart of Betrayal, yeah you may want to wait as I am now DYING until August for the 3rd book!! Is that the last book??? OHH DAMN, now I have to jump on Goodreads and see if I can find out. How do I not know this? Oh, I know...too many books, trilogies, series to keep track of! Wouldn't change it for the world though! XO

    1. Haha, thanks! You're m new reading guru! There's just so much to read and so little time, you know?

I've read the first 50 pages of THRONE OF GLASS and I really liked it. So maybe I'll try again soon.

I know A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC is going to be amazing. I can't wait to finally get to it.

      Thanks for your thoughts!!
