One of the advantages of having a mom who works as a bookseller is I get to read a lot of great books that are Advanced Reader Copies (also known as an ARC). Some of my favorite books have been found because of these types of books including The Midnighters Series by Scott Westerfield, Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz, Aftertime by Sophie Littlefield, and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Luckily for you its not going to be too long before this book comes out because it is a great read, and a book that I think people should read. For this book, I'm going to go very light on the spoilers because its not readily available.

Happy Holidays

I wanted to take today to wish everyone a Happy Holiday this season. This year I've done a lot of reading and I'm looking forward to another year full of reading and family. In 2012, I get to kick off the year playing with the Nook Simple Touch and the Nook Tablet that my father got for the holidays. So on top of my book reviews I will also be able to tell you all about these two great products. I also got another new book: You Can Read Anyone by David Lieberman

I've found that as you get older the holidays change for obvious reasons, but this year my family was still able to provide me with what they could even thought we are smack in the middle of renovations. I got to spend Christmas Eve with thirty of my closest family members and even thought I got great gifts, gift cards and clothes, My favorite gift of all was a keychain from my niece that said "Aunt, You're Terrific!"At that moment someone could have handed me the keys to a car that cost more than my house, and I wouldn't have cared. It's never the quantity of the gifts you receive or the quality of the wine you're drinking, its the small gifts, like a necklace with children charms or a keychain that recognizes you as a great aunt.

With that being said, get off your computers like I'm going to and spend the day with you family and friends because thats what this season is about.

Angelology

I listened to this book as an audiobook, given that information, it took me a long time from when I started it to when I finished it. It was a twenty hour book that took me two months to read, sometimes listening to it a lot, sometimes not for a month. That being said, some little facts are forgotten between starting and ending it. My opinion of this book also changed knowing that it was the first in a series, although I think that it would have been better as a standalone.

The Hunger Games

I decided to do a review of a book that I read over the summer. This past summer I did my bed to read as much as I could. I read about 35 books this summer and The Hunger Games was one of them. I chose to write about this particular book because of all of the hype surrounding the moving coming out in three short months. I am going to warn you now that this review will contain spoilers after the jump and if You haven't read this book yet, I would do so.

Introduction

This is going to be my new blog about books. Since this is only going to be an introduction to who I am and what sort of things that I like. Right now I am a recent college graduate waiting to turn twenty one. I love to read, and have a degree in History and so I love Historical Fiction books. My mother is a bookseller and my sister is an English teacher which is how I found my love of books.

I have started to come out of my comfort zone as far as books go, I usually don't read a lot of factual books or memoirs, but I have started to, and I really love it. I listen to audiobooks when I'm driving and occasionally when I work out. I do still love to read and do it any chance that I get. This Christmas I will be getting a Nook and I will be blogging plenty about my new Nook and what its like.

While I get to the ends of the books I'm currently reading, I will update you on previous books that Ive read, and offer some books that fit the season.

Right now I am in the process of reading Angelology by Danielle Trussoni, Plague and Fire by James Mohr and Far from Here by Nicole Baart.
